Stay Connected Across Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s mix of historic sites, mountain ranges, and coastal cities demands reliable mobile connectivity. Therefore, we offer Bulgaria Data eSIM and Bulgaria Physical Data SIM card options for travelers. These provide internet for maps, bookings, and messages abroad. The digital eSIM activates easily before travel, with details sent via email. Meanwhile, the physical SIM arrives by courier to your address and activates in Bulgaria. Both options help you avoid expensive roaming abroad.

Bulgaria’s principal mobile operators are A1, Yettel (formerly Telenor), and Vivacom (BTC). Each provides extensive 4G coverage nationwide. In particular, A1 offers the fastest 5G network in Bulgaria. Vivacom’s 4G network covers most of the population, with 5G active in many cities. However, actual speeds and signal strength depend on your location and device. Therefore, our plans use one assigned local network per purchase, so coverage may vary by area.

Bulgaria Network Connectivity Profile Useful for Travelers
A1 (Bulgaria) Major nationwide 4G network with fastest 5G (100+ towns) Ideal for cities, highways, resorts
Yettel (Telenor) Broad 4G coverage (33% market share) Good for urban and suburban travel
Vivacom (BTC) Extensive 4G (full service in 44 cities) and growing 5G Reliable in cities and many rural areas

Choose Your Format

You may choose either format within the same Bulgaria plan. First, pick a Bulgaria Data eSIM for quick digital setup on a compatible unlocked phone. Alternatively, select the Bulgaria Physical Data SIM card for devices without eSIM support. Both provide identical data allowances; only delivery and installation differ.

Feature Bulgaria Data eSIM Bulgaria Physical Data SIM card
Format Digital eSIM profile Standard SIM card
Best for Unlocked smartphones with eSIM support Phones without eSIM or as backup device
Delivery Instant email with installation instructions Physical delivery by courier (4–5 business days)
Setup Activate via device settings (scan QR/enter code) Insert SIM after arrival in Bulgaria
Home SIM Remains in phone (dual-SIM mode) May replace your home SIM if no spare slot
Calling Data-only (no PSTN calls/SMS) Data-only (unless plan explicitly includes voice)

Bulgaria Data eSIM

After purchase, you will receive your Bulgaria eSIM QR code by email. Next, install the profile using a stable Wi-Fi connection, then enable the travel data line upon arrival. Your phone must support eSIM and remain unlocked. Check your settings for an Add eSIM option or dial *#06# for an EID to confirm compatibility. For example, most recent iPhones, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, and similar models support eSIM profiles.

Physical Data SIM

Alternatively, if your phone does not support eSIM, choose a Bulgaria Physical Data SIM card. We dispatch it to your Indian address (about 4–5 working days).

Once in Bulgaria, insert the SIM. Next, select it for mobile data and enable data roaming. Then ensure network selection is automatic and use the supplied APN only if explicitly required.

Manage with Symbaa

Symbaa is Hubbing Ecom’s travel connectivity app for eSIM plans. Through it, travelers can browse plans, review data usage, and manage their eSIM services in one place. However, you can still purchase plans directly on the Hubbing Ecom website. Therefore, Symbaa complements our existing ordering system by adding mobile convenience, without replacing the website.

Choose Your Plan

For example, a shorter trip may only need modest data for maps and messagin. However, if you plan to stream videos or tether devices, choose a larger-data Bulgaria plan. Also consider plan validity versus your trip length. Since our plans are prepaid, verify any top-up or expiry terms before ordering.

Frequently asked questions(FAQs)

Symbaa is Hubbing Ecom’s travel eSIM app for international connectivity. The app helps travelers buy and manage supported data plans easily. Through Symbaa, you can review your plan details and track data usage on your phone. However, you can also purchase plans directly on our website. In summary, Symbaa adds convenience by centralizing your eSIM data services.

Bulgaria’s networks include A1, Yettel (Telenor), and Vivacom. The specific network depends on the local carrier assigned to your plan. For example, A1 offers fast 5G in many areas. However, coverage varies by location and operator. Hubbing Ecom cannot guarantee a specific network everywhere, since factors like distance and terrain affect service.

To use an eSIM, your phone must support eSIM technology and be carrier-unlocked. Check for “Add eSIM” in your settings or dial *#06# to find an EID. If these options don’t appear, your phone likely requires a physical SIM. In that case, use the Bulgaria Physical Data SIM card. Most newer iPhones, Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel models support eSIM profiles.

After purchase, email clear copies of your passport, valid visa (if required), and flight ticket to admin@hubbingecom.com. Alternatively, WhatsApp all documents to +91 9508041583. Provide legible images. Promptly sharing these documents helps us verify your identity. These document requirements apply to both eSIM and physical SIM orders.

The Bulgaria Data eSIM (and most travel eSIMs) are data-only and do not support regular voice calls or SMS. Instead, use apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram, or Zoom over your data connection. The Bulgaria Physical Data SIM also provides only data unless you specifically select a plan that includes voice. Check your plan details, as traditional calling is not included by default.

No, not always. Unlimited plans often include fair-use rules or daily limits. For example, many unlimited plans allow full speed up to a daily cap, then throttle to a lower speed (e.g. 128 Kbps). Always confirm any speed or usage limits with us. “Unlimited” usually means unlimited quota, but with possible speed caps to prevent network congestion.

Unlimited data plans may be offered, but they often require an offline (consultative) order. Please call or WhatsApp us before ordering to check if an unlimited plan is available and fits your trip. We will confirm pricing, validity, coverage, and any daily limits. In many cases, travelers use a regional Europe unlimited plan for trips beyond Bulgaria.

Hotspot/tethering is possible on most devices and plans. However, it depends on your plan and network. If allowed, you can share your data with laptops or tablets. Heavy tethering can quickly use up your allowance and may trigger throttling on unlimited plans. Always check your plan’s terms. Also, remember to disable hotspots when not needed to preserve battery and data.

Install your Bulgaria eSIM profile before departure (using Wi-Fi), but activate it only when you are near or in Bulgaria. For example, enable the eSIM about 36 hours before your trip and start using it after landing. If using the physical SIM, insert it after arrival in Bulgaria (unless instructed otherwise), then select it for data service.

Many plans allow top-ups via the Symbaa app or the website. If your plan supports top-up, you can buy more data when needed. Otherwise, your service will stop or slow down. We suggest heavy users buy a larger plan upfront. Top-up terms vary by plan, so verify if it’s available and how to do it before you travel.

Yes, in general. Bulgaria’s largest cities — Sofia (capital), Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, and others — have strong coverage by the main networks. You should get reliable data in urban centers, airports, and tourist areas. Keep in mind that indoor and underground coverage can still be weaker anywhere. In city centers and major sites, your data plan will work as expected.

Coverage in remote or mountainous areas may be more limited. While operators cover many towns, signal can drop in very rural or high-altitude places. For example, Vivacom’s 4G network covers most of the population, but isolated village roads, mountain resorts, or passes might have patchy reception. It’s wise to download offline maps for places like the Rhodope or Rila mountains, where data could be unreliable.

A Bulgaria-only plan covers only Bulgaria (and its partner networks). As you approach the border with Greece, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, or North Macedonia, your phone might attempt to roam onto a neighbor’s network. Disable automatic roaming and network selection if you do not want that. For travel in multiple countries, choose a regional Europe plan instead.

No. Most travel needs are served by 4G/LTE. Bulgaria does have 5G in some urban areas, mainly via A1 and Vivacom, but it’s not necessary for basic tasks. 4G will suffice for maps, messaging, browsing, and streaming. Only consider 5G if you need very high speeds in 5G-covered spots; otherwise 4G is usually adequate.

Yes, all plans are prepaid data plans. You pay upfront for the data allowance and validity. Once the allowance or validity runs out, service stops (or slows if an unlimited plan has throttling). There are no post-paid bills or hidden fees. Confirm any top-up or renewal options in advance if you plan to extend your data later.

First, ensure your travel SIM/eSIM is selected for mobile data and that roaming is enabled. Restart your phone. Keep network selection on automatic. Only use the provided APN if specifically instructed. Do not delete the eSIM profile. If problems persist, contact Hubbing Ecom support (WhatsApp/call +91 9508041583) with your device model, network screenshots, and the SIM’s ICCID.

No. A Bulgaria-only plan covers only Bulgaria. It will not work in France, Germany, or other European countries unless you purchase a regional plan. If you plan to visit multiple EU countries, consider our Europe Data eSIM plan. Always verify the coverage list in your product details before travel.

Yes. On dual-SIM phones, you can keep your India home SIM active alongside the Bulgaria eSIM. You will still receive calls and OTPs on your home number. However, your home carrier may charge international roaming. We recommend disabling mobile data and roaming on your home SIM before travel to avoid unexpected charges.

Order your Bulgaria SIM at least 4–5 working days before your trip. Hubbing Ecom needs that time to process and ship your SIM card to India. If you have a fixed travel date, order even earlier. Also, send the required documents (visa, passport, ticket) immediately after purchase. We suggest WhatsApping them from your registered phone number to +91 9508041583 right away.
